Studio · One contact, no chain

One person. One island. One digital studio. And the same speed in London as in Telde.

I design and build digital products from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: websites and ecommerce, internal software, integrations, automations and visibility systems. Me, from the first call to the last deploy, in English or Spanish. If you are reading this from London, Dublin or New York, the only real difference is what time I reply, and it is worked out for you below.

(01)The trade winds

The Canaries have always been where the Atlantic meets Europe.

That is not a slogan, it is weather. The trade winds blow from the north-east towards America, which is why for four centuries ships stopped here before crossing. The island also runs on the same clock as London and Dublin, four hours' flight away. These days what crosses is a code repository.

When it is 16:42 in Las Palmas, it is 11:42 in New York.

Plenty of overlap. The project moves as if we were on the same street.

(02)The measure that does not change

Your website does not pay for the distance.

The HTML of this page is built before you ask for it and served from the network node closest to you, not from a computer in the Canaries. That is why speed does not depend on which side of the Atlantic you are on. And instead of telling you, this section measures itself, right now, in your browser.

Interface

What visitors see and touch. Written from scratch, with no templates or page builders, so it loads in under a second and behaves the same on an old phone as on a new laptop.

  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Vite
  • Tailwind
  • Motion
  • WebGL2

Commerce

When you need to sell or take payments. Gateways already used by millions of shops: no home-made inventions handling your customers' money.

  • Shopify
  • Stripe

Data

Bookings, forms, private areas or a dashboard to manage your content. The specific infrastructure is not published: the less is known about it from outside, the safer it is. Those four guarantees come with every project.

  • HTTPS
  • EU servers
  • Automatic backups

(03)What I say no to

Four things you will not find here.

I do not use templates. No bought theme, no page builder.

It is not purism. A large part of those websites' weight is code your business never uses, and that weight is paid for in speed, in rankings and in visitors who leave before seeing anything.

I do not start designing without knowing what the website needs to generate.

If the answer is "to have a presence", the project is not ready yet and the budget goes on decoration. That is what the first call is for: if it does not produce a goal that can be measured, I tell you before quoting anything.

I will not rebuild your website if it does not need it.

I look at the one you have before quoting anything. More than once the answer has been "this can be fixed in a couple of days, you do not need a project". It is worse business for me and better for you, and it is exactly why people come back.

I do not tie you to a platform or a licence of mine.

No bought theme, no page builder, no subscription to a system I own. It is standard React and TypeScript, hosted in your name, and if you ever want the code I hand it over documented.

(04)Who answers

Who is on the other end of the email.

My name is Borja Vega and Nebula Creative is my studio. The person who takes your first call is the one who draws the grid, writes the TypeScript and replies next Tuesday when you want to change a headline. There is no account manager, no handover to a team you do not know, no follow-up meeting about another meeting.

That has an awkward consequence I would rather mention before you find out: I cannot start every project tomorrow. When I give you a start date it is the real one, not the one that sounds best on the phone. In return, the person answering your email on any given Tuesday is the same one who wrote the website.
